Light steel structure which means light steel structure building system is composed of a high performance structural steel and high performance functional material and the decorative connecting material composition. In fact, Both heavy steel structure and light steel structure has not unified definition. There are Many experienced designer or project manager who also can"t make it sense, but we can distinguish them by referencing some date.
One, Lifting weight of workshop crane lifting weight: if the weight is greater than or equal to 25 tons, this building can be thought of as heavy steel structure.
Two, The amount of steel per unit area: if the amount is greater than or equal to 50KG/M2, this building can be considered to be heavy steel structure.
Three, the thickness of the main steel component: if the thickness is greater than or equal to 10MM, this building can be considered to be heavy steel structure.
In architecture and structural engineering, a space frame or space structure is a truss-like, lightweight rigid structure constructed from interlocking struts in a geometric pattern. Space frames can be used to span large areas with few interior supports. Like the truss, a space frame is strong because of the inherent rigidity of the triangle; flexing loads (bending moments) are transmitted as tension and compression loads along the length of each strut.
The simplest form of space frame is a horizontal slab of interlocking square pyramids and tetrahedra built from aluminium or tubular steel struts. In many ways this looks like the horizontal jib of a tower crane repeated many times to make it wider. A stronger form is composed of interlocking tetrahedra in which all the struts have unit length. More technically this is referred to as an isotropic vector matrix or in a single unit width an octet truss. More complex variations change the lengths of the struts to curve the overall structure or may incorporate other geometrical shapes.
Pipe truss refers to one grid type structure connected by round rod. Using round rod makes this structure has good material economic and reduce it’s weight. Besides, using round rod makes the structure easy to form various shapes so as to adapt to different application, such like simply supported girder, arch, framework, tower, etc.
